HD in Euro gathering speed
German pay-service Premiere transmitted last weekend’s American ‘Superbowl’ NFL event in unencrypted High Definition to a select number of viewers with suitable receivers. Viewers could tune in to the Panthers vs Patriots game with a German commentary or the original American commentary. The live telecast was shown on Transponder 103 on Astra at 19.2 deg E, and was also shown at a few selected venues throughout Germany including Sony’s Berlin showcase media centre.
