Germany looks to 2006 for HDTV
HDTV is one of the hottest issues in Europe’s broadcasting industry - and Germany has no intention of being left out, although the key players in Europe’s most competitive television market are taking a more hesitant approach. In an exclusive survey, Inside Satellite has asked the main domestic broadcasters about their views on the chances of HDTV in the German market, their plans to make use of the new technology and, with an eye on the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany, the time-table to launch HDTV-based services.
