Sky HD: “may be sooner than 2006”
James Murdoch told a Goldman Sachs conference in
New York last week that its upcoming HDTV offering
would launch “early in 2006, maybe sooner”. Murdoch
said Sky Digital wanted to boost extra revenue-generating
services to early adopters. “52% of our customers
are buying the top tier, but there’s a sub-set that is not
price sensitive,” he said, explaining that Sky was now
selling “more and more” multi-room additional boxes
into existing Sky homes.
