SES orders Sirius 4
Nordic Satellite AB (NSAB), 75% owned by SES Global, has taken the plunge and ordered its latest ‘Sirius’ satellite, part of whose mission will be to provide timely replacement of Sirius 2 and Sirius 3. The contract was signed at SES’ Betzdorf HQ on January 11. Sirius 4 will orbit at 5 deg East and Lockheed Martin will use its popular A2100AX platform to support 52 Kuband transponders as well as a pair of Ka transponders. Launch date is stated as Q2/2007. NSAB is 25% owned by Swedish Space Corp.
