UK pulls plug on L-Band
UK telcoms regulator Ofcom has announced it intends selling off the 1.5 GHz L-Band spectrum despite vigorous representations from Europe’s satellite sector, not least those particularly interested in satellite radio. Ofcom has set a June 9 deadline for appeals against its action, and proposes to auction the spectrum speedily, probably this coming winter.The full story is available only to subscribers.
