ARD opposes Astra digital plan
German public broadcaster ARD has again stressed its firm opposition to the digital pay-TV platform entavio that SES Astra plans to establish in the German DTH market. As part of the plan, television channels currently transmitting free-to-air would be encrypted with DTH households being charged a monthly access fee of up to €3.50.
