Intelsat’s revenues down 9%
Intelsat’s problems continue. Its Q4 and full-year numbers are both down on the same period last year. Q4 saw revenue of $571m ($619m, same period last year) and FY-2015 revenues were $2.353bn ($2.472). The operator’s data, released Feb 22, saw management say that 2015’s full year performance was much in line with previous guidance and the trends experienced during the year which saw pricing pressures in certain regions and continued reductions in US governmental spending, plus continued currency challenges from some markets, notably Brazil and Russia.
Eutelsat’s “robust” plans for 2016
Satellite operator Eutelsat has been hosting a series of meetings with equity analysts, and a recent comment from investment bankers Jefferies report on its session with the company’s senior managers. Jefferies’ equity analyst Giles Thorne reported to clients that Eutelsat’s new-in-post CEO Rodolphe Belmer (he officially took over from Michel de Rosen on March 1st) provided a “robust” reiteration of the operator’s growth plans for the next year or two.
